The Inkatha Freedom Party in KwaZulu-Natal is
appalled at the senseless and brutal murder of an eight year
old grade three learner at Umlazi, South of Durban.
It is alleged that the eight year old went
missing on Friday last week
(22 February 2013) and after an extensive search
her body was found.
“When will these brutal attacks on the
innocent and vulnerable stop?
The Police appear to be ineffective and unable
to protect law abiding citizens. As a civilised society we
cannot allow such barbaric acts against innocent women and
children to continue,” said Honourable Les Govender, Shadow MEC
for Social Development.
The IFP expresses sincere condolences to the
family of the deceased child and the community of Umlazi. The
IFP is also calling on government to come up with effective
measures to put an end of such inhuman acts.
“Slogans do not stop crime but harsh and swift
punishment will do the deed,” said Honourable Govender.
