IFP to Welcome Over 100 ANC and NFP Members
in Maphumulo Municipality Area

04 April 2013

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) National Chairperson and KwaZulu Natal Legislature Official Opposition Leader, Hon.Blessed Gwala, will on Saturday inaugurate Emphise area, Ward 3 in Maphumulo Municipality area and welcome over 100 ANC and NFP members.

In the past months, IFP has been welcoming back its former members who, during the Local Government Elections in 2011, either joined NFP or ANC.

“Some of these members are new to the party and are coming from the ANC; others were members who had been caught up in the confusion after the formation of NFP. Most of these members were recruited by Bhakabhaka Mtshali, who has also returned to the IFP,” said Hon. Blessed Gwala.

The IFP which currently runs one Ward out of 11 Wards in the municipality, is hopeful to take over Maphumulo Municipality particularly since the difference that the ANC won by was a small margin when compared to the IFP.
