Traditional Courts Bill Should Be Accepted

15 October 2013

The IFP has slammed political parties in Parliament who are against the Traditional Courts bill.

IFP MP Prince Muntukaphiwana Zulu, said "During the meeting of the select committee on Security and constitutional development, the DA, COPE,  as well as the ANC provincial legislature were against the Traditional Courts bill, stating that South Africa has no need for two justice systems. But this shows how they do not recognise the role of traditional leaders, yet some provinces are in favour of the bill"

"The representatives of KwaZulu-Natal stated that the bill was not clear and that they did not understand it, however, this cannot be the case because they have had ample time to study it. During the public hearings held in KwaZulu-Natal, King Goodwill Zwelithini and other traditional leaders were in favour of the bill and rejecting it is the same as rejecting the role of these leaders in our society" stated Prince Zulu.
