IFP Supports Loan to Zimbabwe

The IFP supports the provisional approval of a loan to Zimbabwe by the South African Government subject to certain conditions.

 

IFP Spokesperson on International Relations, Mr Ben Skosana MP said, "We support the loan on condition that it will be utilised primarily in bringing about inclusively free and fair elections later this year in Zimbabwe."

 

The government has provisionally approved a loan amount of R905 million to Zimbabwe in preparation for elections.

  

"The other related conditions are that the loan will be utilised in enhancing basic human rights, recognition of the rule of law and constitutional democracy in Zimbabwe," said Skosana.
