IFP to Walk Out of the TLTP Sitting Programme in Durban

25 April 2013

The Inkatha Freedom Party in KwaZulu Natal will today at 12pm walk out at of the Legislature Sitting which will be taking place at the Himalaya Sports Field in Merebank, eThekwini Metro, where the Provincial Government is hosting its Taking Legislature to the People.

IFP members in the Provincial Legislature together with its eThekwini Metro Councillors will be walking out of the sitting due to their dissatisfaction with the way Taking Legislature to the People has been turned around by the ruling party where it has now become more of a “Shell road to fame” for ANC members.

“The TLTP is more about the ANC showing off to the community than it is about assisting the communities it takes the Legislature to. It is now time for the whole country to review what was the exact point of hosting TLTP in order to establish whether those who are in governance are abiding by such,” said Hon. Blessed Gwala, Leader of the Official Opposition in the KZN Legislature.

The IFP will then have a Press Conference to brief the media on its way forward in tackling this matter.
