IPID Must Investigate Rapper's Shooting

28 October 2013

The IFP calls on the Independent Police Investigative Directorate to urgently investigate the shooting of rapper, Khuli Chana.

IFP Spokesperson on Police, Mr Velaphi Ndlovu, MP, said, “This proves that there is a great need for a more comprehensive and thorough training of our police officers. SAPS seems like it is becoming a law unto itself with many innocent people becoming victims of police abuse of force in the recent past.”

“The IPID must urgently obtain a statement from the SAPS Midrand police station, and ensure that this matter is investigated thoroughly. SAPS officers involved must be identified and be suspended from work until the investigation is finalised,” said Ndlovu.

The IFP would like to wish Khuli Chana a speedy recovery.
