IFP Applauds Top SA Blues Festival to Be Held in Cape Town

05 December 2014.

The Inkatha Freedom Party extends its heartiest congratulations and well wishes to the musicians, organizers and sponsors of the 2014 Table Mountain Blues Summit being held at the Hillcrest Quarry, Durbanville, over this coming weekend.

IFP Spokesperson on Arts and Culture, Mr “Essie” Esterhuizen, MP, said, “This event which is already in its 9th year, brings together 20 of the country's top Blues Rock Artists over 2 days. It is a testament to the diverse musical culture of South Africa and greatly contributes to keeping alive this musical form and genre that originated in African-American communities in the "Deep South" of the United States during the end of the 19th century.”

“Music, like sport, is one of the ways in which we can promote and embrace unity in our diversity. We commend the bands, organizers and corporate sponsors of this event, wish them every success for this coming weekend’s festivities and look forward to the Table Mountain Blues Summit going from strength to strength in the years to come,” concluded Esterhuizen, MP.
