Elections 2014 - IFP NEC Condemns Weekend Report on Intimidation

07 April 2014.

The IFP National Executive Committee (NEC) strongly condemns a newspaper report, published on Sunday, which refers to the IFP as a "ballot bully" for allegedly being implicated in pre-election intimidation.

The sensationalist headline, above the IFP logo, claims that the IFP had been implicated in such activities, but the article fails to mention one instance of such alleged behaviour by the IFP.

We condemn such attempts to vilify the IFP.

The IFP NEC will contact the Community Agency for Social Enquiry to request that their research into this matter is made available, and if there were any instances of misconduct on the part of any IFP members, we will take strong action.

The IFP is committed to free and fair elections.  We are a party of peace, tolerance and respect.
