IFP SHOCKED AT DEATH OF MSUNDUZI COUNCILLOR

November 7, 2005

IFP Provincial Publicity Secretary Mr S'bu Nkwanyana today expressed the Party's shock at the mysterious death of Msunduzi Councillor, Mr Vika Ndlovu.

Mr Nkwanyana said, "We are deeply shocked and saddened by the news of the mysterious death of Councillor Vika Ndlovu. The body of Councillor Ndlovu was found in the Henley dam, Msunduzi yesterday, Sunday 6 November."

"According to our information Councillor Ndlovu disappeared on Monday 31 October 2005 whilst on route to visit his aunt in nearby Emadwaleni. The family opened a missing persons' case with the Plessislaer SAPS the following day," Mr Nkwanyana said.

Mr Nkwanyana continued, "The mysterious disappearance of Councillor Ndlovu and that his body was found far away from the area where he was last seen raises our suspicion of foul play and we are calling on the SAPS to investigate this as a matter of priority. The IFP will also leave no stone unturned to investigate the mysterious death of Councillor Ndlovu."

"Councillor Vika Ndlovu was an active party member and very active within his ward, Ward 1 Msunduzi. We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to his family in their time of shock and grief," Mr Nkwanyana concluded.
