IFP MOURNS THE DEATH OF MR ROGERS NGCOBO

June 8, 2005

The National Spokesperson of the IFP Musa Zondi today expressed the Party's condolences to the family of Mr Rogers Ngcobo on the occasion of his passing away.

Rev Zondi said, "The entire family of the IFP mourns the death of one of the foundation members of the IFP, the late Mr Rogers Ngcobo. Mr Ngcobo was one of the very active leaders of the Party from its inception to the time when his health and business activities could no longer allow him to be directly active. We remember him for his wise counsel and for his bravery to withstand opposition even during the violent times of the 1980's. He always stood his ground and was a fiery debater."

"Mr Rogers Ngcobo was also a member of the KwaZulu Legislative Assembly representing what was then known as Court 26, the area of KwaMashu and Inanda. He was also a leader of the IFP in various capacities in his constituency."

Rev Zondi said, "The Party conveys its deepest condolences and sympathy to Mr Ngcobo's family."
