“As the new school year begins it brings with
it so much hope especially with the increment in the class of
2012 pass rate. It is also a beginning of a new chapter for all
(teachers and pupils of all grades). Everyone is fresh from the
holidays and is looking forward to the year ahead,” said Hon.
Mntomuhle Khawula, Shadow MEC for Education.
The Inkatha Freedom Party acknowledges the
commitment each teacher and parent, and principals as well as
governing bodies, will invest for the year 2013 and towards the
future of their children and education. The IFP also notes that
as the year begins there are many learners who are starting the
year with great odds against them, however we hope that working
towards their future will make them forget the barriers that
they are faced with.
“We are hoping that this is a year where the
department will solve most of the problems facing our schools,
whether it's lack of textbooks, poor school infrastructure or
difficulties for pupils in rural areas that walk long distances,
we hope that the department resolves these issues so that they
don’t affect our pupils and educators,” said Hon. Khawula.
