IFP President in Gauteng for Voter Registration Drive

November 17, 2005

Mr Bongikosi Dlamini, MP, today announced that the President of the IFP, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, MP, will visit Zonkizizwe Township in Ekurhuleni and also Alexandra Township in Gauteng on Sunday, 20th November 2005. These walkabouts are scheduled to begin at 09h00 in Zonkizizwe. (Please refer to Mr Dlamini for more specific details.)

Mr Dlamini said:

"The purpose of the visit is to encourage people to register to vote despite growing voter apathy in these areas as a result of non-delivery. The IFP believes that every vote is important because it has power to change the system. We want to use this visit as an opportunity to encourage people not to become victims of the system, but rather to change their lives by registering to vote, and in that way empowering themselves to vote in leaders they can trust to make a difference in their lives."
