IFP Demands That Ticket Allocation Be Investigated

19 November 2013

IFP eThekwini caucus leader, Cllr Mdu Nkosi, has expressed concern regarding the unfair allocation of PR Councillors tickets for the yearly senior citizens events taking place for the festive season.

To allay their concern in this regard Cllr Mdu Nkosi on behalf of the IFP eThekwini caucus wrote a letter to the eThekwini Municipality Speaker, Cllr Logie Naidoo, on the 13th November 2013. To date, no response has been received.

"As the IFP eThekwini caucus, we are highly disturbed by this lack of transparency and accountability as it is alleged that ANC PR Councillors have received 100 tickets, whilst the IFP has not received any at all to these very important events for our senior citizens," Nkosi said.

Another allegation is that some of the non-ANC PR Ward Councillors are getting 300 to 400 tickets, while the standing allocation is 600 tickets for each ward.

The IFP demands that this matter be urgently investigated and are awaiting a speedy response from Cllr Logie Naidoo in this regard.
