22 April 2014.
The IFP is deeply saddened by the death of two
young boys, Siyamthanda Madlantse and Andakhe Qoyi, who were
killed in a hit-and-run incident over the Easter weekend while
playing with friends in Symphony Way in Delft.
It is deeply saddening to see our children die
while at play, because of the negligent and reckless driving of
some drivers. It is
a parentís worst experience to bury their children; as the IFP
we send out heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences to the
families of the two boys.
We hope the driver will be sent to jail, if
found guilty, for the pain he has caused the two families.
The IFP urges the Western Cape Provincial
Department of Community Safety to erect a fence that will
separate the walkway from Symphony Way. The provincial
government should also make a park in the area for children to
play in, so that they can play far away from busy roads.
