The IFP Leadership will on Tuesday launch its
third of weekly press briefing on the themes of the IFP's
manifesto and our promises to the electorate ahead of the
all-important May 7 elections. Our third briefing will focus on
the state of Health in South Africa.
Sadly, our healthy system is broken. State-run
hospitals and clinics are collapsing because there is no money -
they are mismanaged and, unmaintained. Patients die because of
this neglect. Complex policies enrich dishonest officials while
robbing us of good doctors and nurses, prompt ambulance services
- especially in rural areas and essential medical supplies and
A National Health Insurance initiative will
not work because there are too few taxpayers to fund it.
Our health system needs to be overhauled. The
IFP believes everyone has the right to access proper healthcare.
We believe it preserves your dignity and helps us all build a
brighter tomorrow. The IFP will outline its plans on how to fix
our ailing healthcare system at the briefing.
