IFP Shocked at Tragic Death of Senzo Meyiwa
27 October 2014.
The Inkatha Freedom Party sends its heartfelt
condolences to the family and friends of Bafana Bafana and Orlando
Pirates captain Senzo Meyiwa.
IFP spokesperson on Sport, Mr Petros Sithole, MP
said, "The whole country woke up to the devastating news that Senzo
Meyiwa had been fatally shot and killed by unknown assailants. He
was a man who represented both his club and country with excellence.
He was the number one goalkeeper and captain of Orlando Pirates and
also Bafana Bafana"
"As a nation, we must take a stand against
violent crime, because it affects us all. The death of Meyiwa
unfortunately highlights how our communities continually live in
fear of their lives. Communities and the police need to work hand in
hand to stop such tragedies from occurring and to bring criminals to
book. Rewards for information leading to criminal arrests and
prosecutions should be a consistent part community and police
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the nation and his club family, Orlando Pirates at this time" said Sithole
