Hon VB Ndlovu

National Assembly: Thursday, 18 November 2010

Honourable Speaker:

Why are the IFP being seemingly prejudiced by the police in Gauteng? Why have there been no arrests in these matters after 4 months since the incidents occurred in some instances.

1)         Induna Mnguni (IFP) of Joshua Door was shot on the 29th August and died on the 31st August 2010 in hospital.

2)         Councillor Mandla Sibiya (IFP) of Merafong was gunned down on the 5th September 2010 in front of his wife and children inside his own home.

3)         On the 25th September 2010, Mr Patrick Ngubane, the IFP youth treasurer in Gauteng was shot 12 times and by the grace of God survived.

4)         On the 22nd October 2010 Mr Bhunu Zungu (IFP) from ward 61 Jeppestown was gunned down at 9h30 in the evening in front of his son.

5)         On the 22nd October 2010 Mr Thandazani Shange (IFP) of ward 37 Soweto was gunned down at 6h30pm in front of his brother, mother, older brother ,wife and children.

6)         On the 28th October 2010 three IFP members were ambushed whilst traveling through Alexandria and killed.

7)         Induna Twala (IFP) of ward 37 nancefield was gunned down on the 31st October 2010.

“When will the Police Commissioner and Minister start to act on these murders, who else in the IFP must die before effective police action is taken?”

I thank you.
